Remembering Bloody Sunday - March 7th, 1965

Updated: May 4, 2021

On March 7th, 1965, 600 Black demonstrators were attacked on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, during a peaceful march calling for Black voting rights. Today, in states across the United States, white supremacists are still using tricks and intimidation tactics to stop Black people from accessing our full right to vote. The anniversary of Bloody Sunday is a poignant reminder that the fight in our democracy is far from over.

it's sad that peaceful protests calling for Black rights are still being attacked even decades after Bloody Sunday. this really shouldn't happen.
